Investing in photography for your brand.

Starting a business is hard. It’s really hard. You’ve spent months planning what you want to do with the rest of your life, this is your dream, your baby and you absolutely have to get it right. You’ve spent a small fortune of a new shiny website and a logo and now you need some images.

BUT – you didn’t budget for a photographer and they cost HOW MUCH??? Oh well your friend Dave has a posh camera – he’ll do it. Or wait there’s that nice picture the kids took of you last summer on holiday – you know the one – the one where you’ve been in the sun all day and you’re BBQing with a beer.

Does that really convey the message that your new business needs and deserves? Is that how you want to be seen online, to the world? Is that really good enough?

People make snap judgements. It takes only 1/10th of a second to form a first impression about a person and websites are no different. It takes about 50 milliseconds (0.05secs) for a user to form an opinion about your website and that determines whether they’ll like your site or not, whether they’ll stay or whether they’ll leave. You need ot create inspiring forst impressions through great photography that engage with your ideal clients and keep them on your site. Don’t risk disconnecting with your customers by using lesser quality images in your marketing and website. It instantly devalues your brand and all that money you spent on web design and a shiny new logo – well that’s all just gone down the drain.

Clients are simple creatures really, – they are looking for answers to 3 questions. Do I like you? Can I trust you? Can you help me?

If they can’t see the real you on your website or LinkedIn/ Facebook/ Instagram etc etc do you thing they are going to buy from you? We are in the era of professional selfies where people are captured with glamour, self confidence and professionalism. If your customers can’t see how good you are then they won’t buy you.

Don’t wait to invest in a personal branding shoot or until you’ve hit the £X income bracket – your competitors who have already hit that level did so because they defined a clear path of how to get there and they SHOWED their potential clients what it feels like to work with them and it’s those clients who propelled them to the level they are today.
